Opportunity Summary:
Flat River Minerals ("FRM") is a dynamic and growth-focused firm managing a diverse portfolio of mineral, royalty, and non-op assets. Headquartered in beautiful Sheridan, Wyoming, with a satellite office in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, FRM is seeking an experienced Petroleum Engineer to enhance its engineering capabilities and data-driven decision-making.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to apply their expertise to support acquisitions, asset management, and cross-departmental collaboration. The ideal candidate has a strong background in reservoir and production engineering.
You will join a multidisciplinary team comprising engineers, geologists, GIS analysts, land professionals, and software programmers, working collaboratively to enhance FRM's business strategies. Key Responsibilities:
Analyze well performance in the Appalachian, Haynesville, ScoopStack, & Powder River Basin plays.
Oil and gas property evaluation and reserve estimates.
Operational, regulatory, and financial data analysis.
Assist cross-departmental teams by utilizing your engineering skills and our proprietary data-driven software technology to enhance the company’s financial performance and M&A success.
Assist with data integration across platforms such as Salesforce and ComboCurve, ensuring seamless correlation of business intelligence data.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering
Reserve estimation and/or reservoir engineering experience
Experience with ComboCurve or Aries
Business Development or Financial Modeling experience is preferred but not required
Experience with Spotfire and Python is preferred but not required
Operational experience/exposure to oil and gas field operations is preferred but not required
