Mineral Acquisition Specialist (Internship)

Opportunity Summary:

Flat River Minerals ("FRM") is a dynamic and growth-focused firm managing a diverse portfolio of mineral, royalty, and non-op assets. FRM is seeking outgoing, motivated, and competitive individuals for an Acquisition Specialist Internship, designed for junior and senior students in relevant programs. This internship provides a hands-on introduction to mineral and royalty acquisitions, negotiation strategies, and industry fundamentals.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop critical negotiation skills while working closely with an experienced acquisitions team. High-performing interns may be offered full-time employment after graduation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research county records to confirm mineral/royalty ownership.

• Research and verify mineral owner contact information via third-party platforms.

• Utilize proprietary software to manage leads, track performance, and coordinate with the in-house team.

• Conduct high-volume outreach via calls, emails, and mail to mineral interest owners.

• Negotiate mineral and royalty transactions under the guidance of experienced specialists.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $17/hour plus acquisition-based bonuses

Required Qualifications:

• Junior or senior standing in a relevant field (Energy Land Management, Sales, Business, Finance, or related discipline)

• Strong ability to meet daily and weekly goals in a fast-paced environment

• Detail-oriented, process-driven, and highly self-motivated

• Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills

• Resilient in the face of rejection and high-volume outreach

• Ability to quickly learn and apply new software technologies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
