Opportunity Summary:


Flat River Minerals ("FRM") is a dynamic and growth-focused firm managing a diverse portfolio of mineral, royalty, and non-op assets. FRM is seeking an experienced and proactive Land & Acquisitions Manager to oversee its due diligence, acquisitions, and post-closing land management functions of its newest subsidiary, Nova Lux Royalties. This is a high-responsibility, high-impact position that plays a key role in the Company’s continued growth and operational excellence.


The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience in energy land management, due diligence, or asset management, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a leader who enjoys managing people and processes, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that portfolio assets are optimized post-close.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee active due diligence projects (typically 4-12 at a time), directing and supporting a team of 3+ land professionals.

  • Negotiate or assist in the negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, NDAs, and other contracts related to acquisitions.

  • Oversee post-close asset management of FRM’s growing portfolio of mineral and wellbore interests, including:

    • Auditing monthly revenues for decimal discrepancies, excessive deductions, or missing payments.

    • Managing ownership transfers and documentation with operators.

  • Utilize the Company’s proprietary portfolio management software to manage workflows across the full asset lifecycle: due diligence, ownership, accounting, and auditing.

  • Coordinate and maintain communication with operators to ensure timely and accurate processing of transfers and revenue.

  • Liaise with outside counsel to resolve title defects, ownership issues, and support contract negotiation as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Please note: Broker-only backgrounds will not be considered for this position.

  • 5-7 years of experience in energy land management, due diligence, or oil & gas asset management, including significant in-house experience at an operator, non-operator, or mineral and royalty acquisition company

  • Strong understanding of title, mineral/royalty ownership, and oil and gas contracts

  • Proven leadership experience managing people and coordinating complex projects

  • Familiarity with revenue auditing and ownership accounting principles

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work across departments and with external stakeholders

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfort working in specialized software platforms
